The car crash just north of the Six Points intersection on US 83 bypass Monday afternoon left one male with minor injuries. “We were called at about 4:41 p.m. to an injury accident near Six Points,” Liberal Police Capt. Pat McClurg said. “A brown 2011 Chevy Pickup driven by a 77-year-old male ran into a blue 2013 International semi tractor trailer driven by a 51-year-old male. The semi tractor trailer slowed to stop and the driver of the brown chevy pickup didn’t realize it and ran into the back of the trailer.” The pickup was actually the rear pilot vehicle for an oversized load, far left, which the driver hit as it slowed. “He received minor injuries and was transported to Southwest Medical Center by EMS. The driver of the pickup was issued a citation for careless driving,” McClurg added. L&T photos/Giseelle Arredondo
