Harold D. Reid, 90, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Liberal Good Samaritan Center .
He was born Nov. 24, 1922, to Clemmie and Mary (Barnet) Reid in Christfield.
He married Irene Shriner Dec. 8, 1956, in Tucumcari, N.M. She died Feb. 28, 2003.
He was a graduate of Attica High School class of 1938. He joined the U.S. Army serving in WWII in the Philippines. He had worked for the Gyp Mill in Medicine Lodge, and drove truck for many different companies. He was a truck driver for Cobra Chemical Co. for 20 plus years before retiring in 2003.
He was a member of the Liberal and Medicine Lodge VFWs.
He enjoyed the outdoors, KU basketball, camping, gardening, cooking and vanilla ice cream.
His survivors include son, George Reid and wife, Renee, Mesa, Ariz.; two daughters, Faith Holifield and husband, Larry, Liberal, and Deborah Lynn Whiteley, Liberal; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters and one great-grandson.
• Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Miller Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Jack Jacob presiding.
Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Highland Cemetery in Medicine Lodge.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. at Miller Mortuary, with family present to receive friends from 6 to 7:30.
