ULYSSES – Jeff Porter, 64, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born Dec. 19, 1948, the son of Luke and Joan (Leierer) Porter, in Garden City.
He graduated from Ulysses High School in 1967. He furthered his education with a business degree from Fort Hays State University in 1976 and an accounting degree from Wichita State University in 1977.
He married Eddi Anderson in 1972.
He worked for Godfrey and Hay in Liberal and Ulysses, and currently operated Jeff Porter CPA.
He was a former board member for the Southwest National Bank, a current board member for Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital, member of the Kansas Chapter of AICPA and the United Methodist Church in Ulysses.
He is survived by two sons, Tyler David Porter, Wichita, Tyson Dale Porter, Lawrence; daughter, Tenelle J. Porter, Woodside, Calif.; parents, Luke and Joan Porter, Hays; sister, Tamara Wilhelm, Hays; and three grandchildren, Trip, Hadley and Thatcher.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Lillie Porter, and Bus and Virginia Leierer.
• Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, with Pastor Kelly Gindlesberger presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.
