The Hugoton Eagles were in Scott City Friday night to take on the Beavers, and fell 28-0 on the road.

The Eagles struggled to stop the Beaver passing attack, and Scott City gained 134 yards through the air on 10-of-16 passing with one touchdown.

Hugoton quarterback Yates Sutton struggled to find a rhythm in the Eagles passing game, completing 3-of-7 passes for eight yards and three interceptions. Yates did gain 48 yards on the ground on 14 carries.

Heading to the half, it was still a close game with the Beavers holding a 7-0 lead.

Scott City scored twice in the third quarter, and once more in the fourth to put the game away.

Reid Davis added 33 yards rushing on eight carries for the Eagles.

The loss drops Hugoton’s record to 3-2 on the year.

The Eagles will celebrate homecoming on Friday when they take on the Southwestern Heights Mustangs in a battle of 3-2 teams.
