PEABODY – Truman L. Slatten, 68, died Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Peabody Care Center.
He was born May 19, 1945, the son of Frank and Wennona Lubbers Slatten, in Liberal.
He was a farmer, mechanic and truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, Peabody; son, John and wife, Alena, Boliver, Miss.; daughters, Kathy Stark and husband, Randy, Haysville, Samantha Hudson and husband, Paul, Boliver, Miss.; two brothers, Herman and wife, Jonie, Tyrone, Okla., Robert and wife, Luella, Lefors, Texas; sister, Sandra Trimble and husband, Tom, Fort Worth, Texas; stepdaughter-in-law, Tammy Hopkins, Lubbock, Texas; sister-in-law, Charlotte Andrews, Newton; eight grandchildren, Tracen, Zander, Braydon Slatten, Kenneth Stark, Beau, Brooke, Molly and Abree Hudson; and best friend, Allen McHenry and wife, Melissa and their children, Logan and Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws; stepfather-in-law; two brothers-in-law; daughter, Tammy Slatten; brother, Kenneth; and three stepsons, Darren, Daniel and Derrek Hopkins.
• Furneral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Peabody Christian Church.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Tyrone, Okla. Cemetery.
