ELKHART – Charlie Everett Ferguson, 94, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2013.

He was born June 16, 1919, to George Washington and Lenora Fern Ferguson in Texas County, Okla.

He married Edith Mae Davolt May 21, 1939. She preceded him in death.

He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1939.

He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Rolla, where he taught in Awana’s program and Sunday school classes. He assisted in revival services and substituted for pastors in the surrounding area.

He was a founding board member of Yarbrough Schools.

He enjoyed fellowshipping with family and friends in church, camping and at family get-togethers.

Survivors include seven children and one nephew, Donnie and wife, Karen Ferguson, Connie and husband, Pat Bryan, Elva and husband, Bob Ponder, Elaine and husband, Stan Louthan, Charles and wife, Callie Ferguson, Timothy and wife, Terry Ferguson, Monty Ferguson, Blaine and wife, Sue Feguson; brother, George Ferguson; sisters, Alice Cooper, Ruth Harrington, Pearl Turner and Linda Taylor; grandchildren, Donna Boaldin, Pamela Adair, Jeffrey Ferguson, Amy Onofre, Stephanie Hosikins, Scott and Steven Bryan, Shawna Loyd, Robert, Brian and Jonathan Ponder, Melissa Lane, Kim Umland, Shane Louthan, Cynthia Gentry, Kevin and Keenan Feguson, Dusty Ferguson and Tara Phillips, Joshua and Jessica Feguson; 50 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; grandnephews, Kent and Eric Ferguson; and his sisters-in-law, Joy Bryan and Mary Ferguson.

She was also preceded in death by his grandparents, William E. and Elizabeth Ferguson and Charley and Tamer (Ella) Fowler; his parents; his son, Timothy; brothers, Glen and Leroy Ferguson; sister, Mary Hill; grandsons, Austin and Dalton Ponder.

• Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Elkhart.
