FOWLER - Geneva J. Kernell, 76, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center in Mead.
She was born July 17, 1937, the daughter of Buna Sears, at Ozone, Ark.
She was a bookkeeper for Kernell Body Shop. She also worked at the Minneola Nursing Home and Fowler Residential Care Center as a nurses aid and med aid.
She enjoyed reading, fishing, camping, music and spending time with her family and friends.
She married Calvin Kernell, May, 1955, at Goodman, Mo. He survives.
Other survivors include her children, James Kernell, John Kernell and wife, Julie, Dodge City, Dave Kernell and wife, Starla, Fowler, Russ Kernell and wife, Tina, Bradyville, Tenn., Calivn Douglas Kernell, Topeka, Teresa Smith and husband, Mike Antlers, Okla.; two brothers, Lowell Sears, Vinita, Okla., Billy Sears, Gladstone, Miss.; a sister, Nora Hutchinson, Butler, Miss.; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edgar Sears.
• Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary Chapel, Meade.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in the Fowler Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Fowler Residential Care Center in care of the funeral home.
