ELKHART – Billy Max O’Hair, 82, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at Morton County Care Center in Elkhart.
He was born May 25, 1931, the son of William Henderson and Olive Catherine (Druce) O’Hair, in Shattuck, Okla.
He married Helen Farmer, June 25, 1955, in Great Bend. She survives.
He was a well-respected educator, coach, avid bow hunter and golfer.
His survivors include sons, Kevin and wife, Kristi, Amarillo, Texas, Gary and wife, Lisa, Andale, Thane and wife, Brenda, Elkhart; brothers, Scotty and wife, Nancy, Ponca City, Okla., and Richard and wife, Karen, Yukon, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Olive; father, W.H.; brother, Tommy; and step-mother, Barbara Davis.
• Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church in Elkhart, with the Pastors Jim Cunningham and Ron Wilson presiding.
Burial will follow at the Elkhart Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 until 8 p.m. at Garnand Funeral Home in Elkhart, with the family receiving friends from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.

A memorial has been set up in Bill O’Hair’s name to provide a scholarship for an Elkhart student.
