‘That’ Liberal Band has a longstanding tradition of excellence dating back to the 1970s, and Tuesday the newest edition will put their talents on display at Redskin Field in the Western Athletic Conference Marching Festival.
‘That’ Liberal Band has marched in some of the most iconic parades in America, including the Tournament of Roses Parade as well as the parade for the Fiesta Bowl.
‘That’ Liberal Band also took its show abroad when they marched in the Lordmayor of Westminster’s New Year’s Day Parade in London.
This year, Director Lance Burnett has ‘That’ Band marching to the rock tunes from Guns ’n Roses, and it will be joined by the bands from Garden City, Dodge City, Hays, Great Bend, Cimarron and Holcomb in a festival that only comes to Liberal once every three years.
The gates will open at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, and the first band will compete at 5:30 p.m.
Reserved seating is available for $5 and general admission is $3. Student admission is $2. Tickets may be purchased at the band office or from LHS band students.
The general public in encouraged to support ‘That’ Liberal Band by attending this unique showcase of bands.
