Two drivers walked away with no injuries following an accident late Thursday morning in downtown Liberal.

Capt. Pat McClurg of the Liberal Police Department said at 11:57 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Second Street and Kansas Avenue for a two-vehicle wreck there.

McClurg said a white 2006 Toyota Corolla collided with a 2005 black Jeep Liberty after the driver of the Corolla ran a red light.

The Corolla was eastbound on Second Street, and the Liberty was northbound on Kansas. The Corolla’s driver, a 20-year-old female, was issued a citation for running a red light.

McClurg said both the Corolla driver and the Liberty driver, a 29-year-old female, suffered no injuries in the accident.
