Senior center starts delivery of ‘blizzard meals’ PDF Print E-mail

• L&T staff report

The weather can change in a heartbeat like last Friday with a small amount of snow.

The Meals on Wheels drivers at the Liberal Senior Center have around 60 blizzard meals to deliver for when the weather is bad enough that they cannot deliver meals to home-bound seniors.

There is enough food for two meals.

“It’s the hope of the senior center and friendship meals drivers that their home-bound friends have food even if the weather keeps the drivers from delivering,” said activities director Michele Stoddard. “If USD 480 has no school due to weather, the senior center is closed, and no meals will be delivered. The meals will start being delivered today and should be out by the end of the month.”
