Clarence Gene “Denny” Smothermon, 54, died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at his home in Liberal.

He was born Sept. 7, 1955, to Clarence Ray Smothermon and Thelma Philbeck Smothermon Lamb.

He attended Hooker Public Schools, graduating in 1973.

He worked for Charlie and Carol Tucker for years.

He was a member of the Hooker Church of Christ.

Survivors include one brother, Michael Dean Smothermon; one sister, Brenda Lee Ambrosen; nieces, Amie Reese, Felicia McCain and Christine Smothermon; nephews, Micheal Smothermon, Jon Smothermon, Derek Walsh and Andrew Walsh; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jon Drew Smothermon, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ike Philbeck and Mr. and Mrs. Lester Smothermon.

o Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ in Hooker, Okla., with John Maynard presiding.

Burial will be at the Hooker Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested for family use and may be left at the Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, OK 73945.
