The man who allegedly robbed Dillon’s Supermarket on the morning of Nov. 5 was captured, according to a statement released earlier today by Liberal Police Capt. Pat McClurg.

“On Friday, Nov. 8, Tappan Danial Smith was arrested in Stevens County,” McClurg noted. “He was subsequently transported to Liberal. Smith is currently incarcerated in the Seward County Jail under a $50,000 bond.”

No further details of the arrest have been released. McClurg had notified the media on Nov. 6 that a vehicle suspected to have been used in the robbery had been found in Amarillo, Texas, but that Smith had eluded capture.
