Director of the K-State Research and Extension’s Seward County Extension office, Kathy Bloom, has announced the results of the recent election of county residents to serve as members of the County Extension’s Advisory Council.

Elected to their first two-year terms are: Nancy Parsons, Debra Huddleston, Kerry Seibel, Trevor Winchester, Barbara Fitagerald and Sylvia Cardoza.

Also elected to serve their second two-year terms were Teddi Winslow, Plains; Chris Standard, Kismet; Jane Eisenhauer, Ronna Stump, Darrell Long and Elizabeth Irby, all of Liberal;

The 24-member Extension Council consists of six members each serving on one of the Extension’s four program areas which include Youth Development, Community Development, Agriculture and Natural Resources and Family and Consumer Sciences.

They support and help the county agents in leadership and development. It is necessary to have a combination of skills in management, education, fiscal responsibility and professional skills and talents among the members of the council.

The newly elected members will be serving with the following council members who will be serving the second year of their two-year terms: Delbert Stebens, Sherri Lamont, Joe Stoddard, Crystal Clemens, Patsy Guinn, Adriane Hatcher, Vanessa Reever, Linda Billings, Greg Bird and Carla Wilson, all of Liberal; and Kim Rinehart and Jerrilynn Wood, both of Kismet.

The 2013 annual meeting of the Extension Council will be on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at which time the 24 council members for 2014 will elect their executive board which includes the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer and five additional members/directors.

At least one representative from each of the four program areas must be elected to serve on the Executive Board for the coming year.
