Seward didn’t run away from San Jacinto in the first half, but the Lady Saints dominated the second in a 105-64 win for their third game over the century mark in the first seven games of the season.

Korina Chapman saw limited action with four fouls, but the Lady Saints were abel to cover with 27 points from Briana Scott and 19 from Kyndal Davis.

Seward only shot 48 percent in the win, but the defense forced San Jacinto into a paltry 25 percent shooting performance and 31 turnovers.

Chapman only scored five points, and only one other Lady Saints didn’t reach double figures — Payton Fleming — and she, too, had four fouls.

Shanise Brooks also saw limited action with four fouls but was able to sore 13 points in her 10 minutes of action.

Alana Simon and Janel Tammen each scored 11, and Fabiana Monte scored 10.

With limited action in the paint from Seward’s starting forwards (Brooks and Chapman), the Saints did not get off to a blowout start, and by halftime the No. 19 Lady Saints only had a six point lead over San Jacinto, 47-41.

But Seward was able to increase the defensive pressure in the second half. San Jacinto only made eight baskets out of 35 shots. Seward outscored San Jacinto 58-23 in the second half for the blowout win.

Seward (7-0) will travel to Garden City Friday to face Lamar in a holiday classic and Saturday will face New Mexico.
