Obituary

Refugia Marie Sandoval, 78, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice at Via Christi Medical Center in Wichita.

She was born March 9, 1935, to  Doroteo and Antonia (Baca) Ulibarri in Mosquero, N.M.

She married Cipriano Sandoval March 24, 1955, in Mosquero. He died June 18, 2005.

She attended the Mosquero school system and graduated with the Class of 1954.

She worked for the Mosquero schools until 1967. She had worked at Dunaway Manor, Gibson’s and C.R. Anthony’s. In 1975, she began working for the Guymon public school as a custodian, retiring in 1991.

She was baptized at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on March 24, 1935.

She was an active member of the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Guymon, where she had served as a Eucharistic minister, Sacristan, Cursillistas and Guadalupanas.

She was also a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include her four children, Stephen Sandoval, Chickasha, Okla., Anthony Sandoval and wife, Penny, Hugoton, Dorothy Morris and husband, Mike, Liberal, and Chris Sandoval and wife, Kimberly, Hugoton; two brothers, Epifanio Ulibarri and wife, Manuelita, and Cruz Ulibarri and wife, Josie, all of Albuquerque, N.M.; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Sandoval, Nathan Sandoval, Bryan Morris and wife, Heather, Malinda Morris, Kassidy Sandoval, Kenzey Sandoval and fiancé, Clay Croft, Tyrell Sandoval and Lance Sandoval; three great- grandchildren, Colter Sandoval, Sage Lindsey and Cipran Morris; her “adopted” grandson, Alex Favela; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Eugene, Epifanio, Jose and Estevan Ulibarri; one sister, Josefita Pacheco; and one grandson, Chandler Clay Sandoval.

• Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Father Mike Wheelahan presiding.

Burial will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.

Memoirals are suggested to St. Peter’s Catholic Church and will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
