George Henry Burrows Jr., 88, died on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton.
He was born June 4, 1925, to George Henry Burrows Sr. in Stevens County.
He married Jewell Higgins Burrows Sept. 1, 1945, at First Christian Church Parsonage, Hugoton. She survives.
He was a member of First Christian Church, Hugoton. He was a deacon & trustee for the church.
He was on Stevens County Commissioners Board for 19 years, and he was Stevens County EMT. He was on the Kansas Legislator Policy Group.
Other survivors include one son, Kenneth Burrows and wife, Michael; two daughters, Shirlene Hagler and Lori Rome and husband, David; one brother, Everett Burrows; all of Hugoton; 10 grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Dennis G. Burrows, two brothers, Ernest Burrows and Ray Burrows, and three sisters, Fern Burrows, Pearl Carley and Maudie Cott.
o Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, Hugoton, with Pastor Danny Biernacki presiding.
Burial will be at the Hugoton Cemetery, Hugoton.
Friends may call until 8 p.m. today at Paul’s Funeral Home.
