The Beaver Lady Dusters struggles at the offensive end continued last night with a 50-35 loss to the Gruver, Texas Lady Greyhounds.

“They pressured us and we had trouble scoring against it,” Lady Dusters coach Casey Jones said. “We’ve got to find a way to get good shots and get to the free throw line.”

Beaver trailed just 8-6 after one period, but and 18-8 advantage for the Lady Greyhounds in the second quarter proved to be the difference.

Beaver played Gruver tight in the second half, but could not make up any ground. The Lady Dusters were outscored 10-9 in the third and 14-12 in the fourth.

Jacinda Balderrama led the Lady Dusters with 15; Brianna Hoover added 9, and Conner Sutton scored 7.

Beaver (1-4) will travel to the Rolla Showcase Tournament, Thursday where they will face Moscow at 3:30 in the opening round.
