The Turpin Cardinals early season struggles to find the bottom of the net continued in Wednesday in their first round matchup of the Laverne Invitational with a 50-30 loss to the Texhoma Red Devils.

The Cardinals managed to score just 12 points in the first half and trailed by 18 at the break (30-12).

Turpin reached double-digits in the third, but still could not make up any ground with Texhoma holding a 12-10 advantage.

Kaleb Parish came off the bench to lead the Cardinals in scoring with 12 points. Ten of Parish’s points came in the second half, including a pair of threes in the fourth quarter. Isaac Resendiz added 8.

Turpin takes on Booker, Texas today.
