The Turpin Lady Cardinals saw their halftime lead slip away in the third quarter as the Buffalo Lady Bison came from behind to beat Turpin, 57-42.

Turpin led 26-24 at half after a comeback of their own in the first half. Turpin trailed Buffalo by eight, and things started to go their way when they switched to a man-to-man defense that gave the Lady Bison fits.

Turpin was able to turn those turnovers into points to gain the 2-point halftime lead.

But Buffalo started the second half on fire, hitting three 3-pointers to start the third, and outscored Turpin 21-6 in the quarter.

Up 15, the Lady Bison then went into stall mode to preserve their lead, and limit Turpin’s opportunities to comeback.

Ashley Funk led the Lady Cardinals scoring with 15. Hanna Weber added 12. Turpin takes on Booker today at 11 a.m.
