The Forgan Lady Bulldogs won a tight game to open the Laverne Invitational, but ended up on the other end Friday as the Texhoma Lady Red Devils hit a shot with five seconds left to complete a 42-40 come-from-behind win.
"We had a lead and just couldn't finish," Lady Bulldogs coach Brett Trippet said. "It was disappointing, but the girls played hard."
Forgan had built an eight-point lead late in the game, but turned the ball over on four straight possessions, leaving Texhoma a window of opportunity.
Texhoma held an early 10-9 lead, and increased it to four by half (23-19).
"The girls did a good job of running the stuff we want to run," Trippet said. "We didn't do a very good job blocking them out, especially early."
Forgan battled back in the third with an 11-7 advantage to knot the game at 34 heading into the fourth quarter. Forgan built the eight-point lead early, before seeing slip away.
Forgan (2-4) will host Balko Tuesday.
