After falling behind early, the Meade Lady Buffaloes dropped the finals of the Bluejay Invitational Saturday to the host Cimarron Lady Bluejays, 75-54.

Cimarron raced out to an early lead, outscoring the Lady Buffaloes 21-12 in the first quarter.

Both teams struggled to score in the second, but the Lady Bluejays had manage to push their lead to 13 at the half with the score 31-18.

Another big quarter for Cimarron in the third put Meade in a big hole. The Lady Bluejays lit up the scoreboard for 28 points in the third to take a 59-39 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Lady Buffaloes could not overcome the lead, and Cimarron grabbed the tournament title in the 75-54 win.

Bailey Olvera had 17 for Meade in the losing effort, and Jaylin Stapleton had 13.

The Lady Buffaloes are now 3-1 on the year following the loss, and the Bluejays remain perfect at 4-0.
