The Meade Buffaloes returned home Saturday night with a Bluejay Invitational championship under their belt after edging the Cimarron Bluejays 55-54 in the finals.
Cimarron led early, taking an 18-11 lead after one, but the Buffaloes got within three heading into the second half, trailing 31-28.
Meade continued to attack in the third, and their persistence paid off as they grabbed a one-point, 43-42 lead heading into the final quarter of play.
The fourth was filled with back-and-forth action with the Buffaloes up by the slimmest of margins. When the final buzzer sounded, Meade at kept Cimmaron at bay, and took home the title.
Morgan Davis paced the Buffaloes attack with 21 points, while Tristin Lewis had 10. Landon Bird had seven points, and Jett Little chipped in with six.
With the win, Meade remains undefeated at 4-0 on the season, and the Bluejays dropped to 3-1 on the year.
