TURPIN — The 17th-ranked Texhoma Lady Red Devils improved to 5-2 on the season with a 60-18 win over Turpin on Tuesday night.

Texhoma jumped to a 16-6 advantage at the end of the first period and led 28-7 at the half on superior outside shooting and pinpoint shooting from the paint when it needed it.

Braelyn Beattie led Texhoma with 16 points as eight Lady Red Devils scored.

Texhoma built up a 41-11 lead in the third when head coach Britton Gabriele emptied his bench, getting some of the younger players some game action as the lead built to 51-15 at the end of the third.

In addition to Beattie’s 16, Taysi Peterson scored 8 quality points inside, Randi Yates and Tabra Elliott each scored 7, Sarah Murphy and Katie Campbell each put in 6 points, Lakin Winters added 3 and Lena Thrasher 2.

Turpin was led by Ashley Funk with 9 — half of her team’s points, Hannah Weber added 6 and Alyssa Kinser 3.
