The Beaver Dusters ended the fall semester portion of their schedule with a 59-47 win over the Booker Kiowas to run their winning streak to four games.
Beaver jumped out to a 17-12 lead in the first quarter, but both offenses slowed in the second quarter with the two teams combining for just 15 points. Beaver was able to hold a slight 8-7 advantage to take a 25-19 lead at half.
The third was another low-scoring affair, but Beaver was able to break the double-digit barrier with a 12-8 advantage. The Dusters headed to the fourth and final period up by ten, 37-27.
In the fourth, both teams had their biggest scoring output of the night. Booker pushed the pace trying to catch the Dusters, but Beaver answered every bucket with a bucket of their own. Beaver outscored the Kiowas 22-20 in the final stanza to win by 12.
Garrett Weber led the Dusters with 20 points, including 13 in the second half. Jorge Rivera was steady throughout, and finished with 15. Beaver was 10 of 16 as a team at the free throw line.
Beaver (6-3) is off for the Christmas break, but will return to action Jan. 3rd when they host Forgan.
