ULYSSES – Joan Louise Richter, 44, died Thursday,  Jan. 2, 2014, at Bob Wilson Memorial Grant County Hospital, Ulysses, Kan.
She was born June 20, 1969, the daughter of Ewing Eugene and Carol Louise (Walker) Lyle, Ulysses, Kan.
She and Ralph F. Richter were married on April 5, 2008, AT Ulysses, Kan.
She was a life time resident of Ulysses.
She loved the outdoors and animals of all kinds, especially her horses. 
She was very active in 4-H and FFA throughout her school years and continued to be involved in 4-H because of her love for children. 
She was a devoted wife and her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Survivors include husband, Ralph F. Richter, Ulysses; four sons, Adam Richter and Heather, Loveland, Colo., Josh Richter, Holcomb, Blake Richter and Nefthaly, Ulysses, Burke Garcia and Taylor DeLeon, Ulysses; three daughters, Andrea Richter, Holcomb, Winterr Maturey and Robert, Ulysses, Kelley Garcia, Ulysses; two brothers, Daniel Lyle, Ulysses, Kevin Lyle and wife, Dianne, Roy, Wash.; two sisters, Penny Pucket and husband, Joe, Ulysses, Lyn Day and husband, Darren, Liberal; step-mother, Pennie Lyle, McCook, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by father, Ewing Lyle.
• Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Ulysses, Kan., with Steve Swann, Jr., presiding. 
A private burial will be at Ulysses Cemetery at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Joan Richter Memorial Fund at the Bank of Ulysses, and they can be mailed to Grant County Funeral Home, 218 S. Main Street, Ulysses, KS 67880.
Grant County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
