John William “Johnnie” Byrum, 82, died, Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 8, 1931, to Clyde and Stella (Vick) Byrum in Russellville, Ark.
He married Marie Morris Feb. 19, 1953, in Perryton, Texas. She survives.
He worked for Chrysler Corner for 30 years as a mechanic retiring in 1993.
He attended Faith Tabernacle.
He enjoyed Sprint Cup racing, Bee Jay baseball and Lady Saints and Saints basketball. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at morning coffee at South McDonalds.
Other survivors include one son, Terry Byrum, Oklahoma City; and one brother, Donald Byrum Casper, Wyo.; and four sisters, Hazel Bruner, Anchorage, Alaska; Martha Lou South, Claremore, Okla., Peggy Williams, Mountain View, Okla., Glenda Boren, Fredrick, Okla.
He was preceded in death by six brothers.
• Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Faith Tabernacle with Pastor Rex Petty presiding.
Private family burial will take place at Restlawn Cemetery.
