Lady Dusters squeak past Lady Cardinals, 25-23 PDF Print E-mail

For the second day in a row the Beaver Lady Dusters traveled to Woodward to take on a Beaver County foe. This time the Lady Dusters came away with a win, thanks to a third quarter rally that gave them a 25-23 win over the Turpin Lady Cardinals.

Turpin led the low-scoring affair 14-10 at the half, but Beaver rallied in the third with a 12-4 advantage to regain the lead, 22-18.

The Lady Cardinals outscored the Lady Dusters 5-3 in the fourth, but Beaver was able to hold on for the win.

Turpin took the early lead 5-1 in the first quarter, and both teams scored 9 in the second.

Beaver shot 23 free throws, but made just 7. Turpin was 5 of 8 at the line.

Jacinda Balderrama scored 9 for the Lady Dusters, and Averi Lansden added five, including a three.

Trista Watson and Ashley Funk each scored 7 for the Lady Cardinals.

Beaver will take on Canton Saturday in the consolation game at 12:30.

Turpin will take on Waynoka Saturday at 10 a.m.
