The Forgan Lady Bulldogs played an incredible defensive first half, held on through the third, but lost in the fourth as the No.12 Shattuck Lady Indians rallied for a 38-29 victory.
Forgan came into their second-round matchup at the Oil Center Classic knowing it would take a great defensive effort to compete with a Shattuck team that has been a thorn in their side the last few seasons.
The Lady Bulldogs did just that, limiting Shattuck to just seven first half points to take a 13-7 lead at the break.
The Lady Indians doubled their first half output in the third and held a 14-10 advantage in the quarter, but Forgan still held a slight lead, 23-21.
But the upset fell apart in the fourth for the Lady Bulldogs who lost a player to foul trouble and one to breathing issues as Shattuck outscored them 17-6 in the quarter to escape with the win.
Nikki Taylor led the Lady Bulldogs with 10 points and KaDawn McReynolds added 7.
Forgan will face Mooreland at 3 p.m. Saturday for third place.
