Tonight’s Liberal City Commission meeting at 6:30 will include a short list of items, unless the agenda is amended.

There will be a USD No. 480 project update. No further details have been released.

According to City of Liberal Recreation director William Weber, the recreation department has received funding from two local private foundations to upgrade the lighting grid at the recreation building.

This will include fixtures, wiring, components and ceiling tile. Installation will be provided by internal departments. The donations totaled $6,235.

Next, Weber will also present the item for the teen computer center in the recreation center.

He notes that the department has received funding from another private foundation to create a teen computer center.

This will include two desktop computer systems and installation will be provided by the city’s information technology department, he said. Donations add up to a total of $2,016.
