Obituary

ULYSSES –  Louvae O. Owens, 73, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses.

She was born Feb. 19, 1936, to Walter H. and Verna Mae (Appl) Krenzel in Scott City.

She married James C. Owens Jr. on Aug. 6, 1956 in Clovis, N.M. He died March 4, 2003.

She graduated from Wichita County High School.

She was a receptionist/clerk for Kamen Supply in Garden City.

She enjoyed reading and crocheting.

Survivors include four daughters, Rikki Gilbert, Knoxville, Tenn., Joya Piland, Grand Junction, Colo., Stacy Reyes, Knoxville, Tenn., and Joni Kreutzer, Ulysses Kansas; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Irvin Krenzel.

o Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with the Rev. Wayne Flanders presiding.

A reception will follow for family and friends at the Clarion Inn, Garden City.

Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church of Ulysses or Garden City, both in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS  67880.
