The Forgan Lady Bulldogs put away any hopes of an upset by the Boise City Lady Wildcats with a 21-10 fourth quarter, and went on to win 52-32 and advance to the regional championship.

Two seniors who have played key roles in the Lady Bulldogs playoff runs over the past few years played their final home games and went out in style, with Jaci McGill scoring 15 and Miranda Lopez adding 11.

"I am so proud of the way Jaci and Miranda have helped out team grow this year," said Lady Bulldogs coach Brett Trippet. "They don't say much but they lead by how hard they work not only in games, but in practice."

Forgan took a small 9-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, and increased it to five at the half, 20-15.

"They were a very athletic team, and their height made our shooting percentage go down some, but we found a way to get the shots we needed. Our defense was the key and the girls did a great job of blocking out so that they did not get very many second chances," said Trippet.

Despite Boise City's height, Forgan was able to get points in the paint. Kenzi Taylor was the top Forgan scorer with 19, and Lindsey Trippet added 7.

The Lady Bulldogs helped themselves tremendously at the free throw line, making 19 of 25.

Boise City was still within striking distance even though Forgan increased their lead to nine heading to the final period.

Forgan ended the Wildcats hopes of a comeback and will now take on county rival Balko at 6:30 Saturday in Buffalo for the regional championship.
