The Beaver Lady Dusters outscored the Laverne Lady Tigers 14-5 in the first quarter, and held the lead throughout in a 46-36 win in the first round of the Buffalo Invitational.

The Lady Dusters were balanced on offense with three players, Jacinda Balderrama, Kaitlin Kemp and Brianna Hoover, each scoring 10, and Conner Sutton adding 9.

Beaver built on their first quarter lead with a 13-9 advantage in the second to go up 27-14 at the break.

Laverne cut into the lead in the third, but Beaver still led by eight (35-27) heading into the final period.

Beaver kept their cushion by outscoring Laverne 11-9 in the fourth to advance to the semifinals of the Buffalo Invitational.

Beaver (11-6) takes on Vici today at 6:30 with the winner advancing to Saturday's championship.
