The Forgan Lady Bulldogs and the Shattuck Lady Indians met for the fourth time this season Friday night at the Buffalo Invitational with a trip to the championship game on the line.
And for the fourth time the No.7 Shattuck Indians came out on top, but this time it took overtime to complete the 50-49 win.
Of the three previous meetings, the Lady Bulldogs had kept the final difference in the single digits only once. Last Tuesday the Lady Indians beat Forgan by 34 on their home court.
But Friday night was a different night.
First, Forgan took an 11-6 advantage in the first quarter. Shattuck bounced back in the second to outscore the Lady Bulldogs 16-10 to take a one-point lead at the half (22-21).
Shattuck added to their lead in the third with a 16-13 advantage to go up 38-34 heading into the final stanza.
Forgan battled back with another tough defensive battle in the fourth to knot the game and send it to overtime.
Shattuck got the one extra point they needed to win in overtime.
Forgan was led in scoring by Nikki Taylor with 14 points; Gabby Morales added 12, and KaDawn McReynolds and Alex McBee each added 7.
Forgan faces off against another familiar foe Saturday when they take on the Beaver Lady Dusters for the fourth time this season in the third place game at 4pm.
