One bad quarter was all it took. The Beaver Lady Dusters struggled at the start and it proved to be the difference in a 41-34 loss to Vici in the semifinals of the Buffalo Invitational.

Beaver got off to a slow start, scoring just three points in the first quarter to fall behind by five; by no means an insurmountable amount to overcome.

But as the game continued Vici continued to keep Beaver at that distance.

Both teams scored 11 in the second quarter to leave the Lady Dusters trailing 19-14 at half.

Each team scored 8 in the third.

Vici added two to their lead with a 14-12 advantage in the fourth to beat Beaver by seven.

Beaver will take on county rival Forgan in the third place game. It will be their fourth meeting of the season.

The Beaver Dusters (12-6) fell to No.7 Laverne  75-60, and will face Shattuck at 5:15 Saturday in the third place game.
