KISMET – David Owen Cotton, 78, died Jan. 13, 2014, at his home.
He was born on Jan. 3, 1936, to Albert E. and Gertrude Ann (Berghaus) Cotton in Liberal.
He married Nancy Jaon Light July 7, 1956. She survives.
He graduated in 1954 from Kismet High School. He then attended Dodge City Community College for one year.
He was a farmer and rancher and enjoyed horse racing as well as auto racing.
He is also survived by two daughters, Robin Waldron and husband, Tom, Sublette, and Kelly Langer and husband, Tom, Topeka; six grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
• Funeral service were at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sublette Methodist Church, with Dr. Kent Scott and Dr. Gerry Dupuis presiding.
Burial followed at Banner Cemetery in rural Seward County.
