ULYSSES – Eva Pauline Hampton, 89, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, in her home near Disney, Okla.
She was born May 11, 1924, to Elmer and Mary (Byers) Kratzer in Mitchell.
She married William Lloyd Hampton July 25, 1942, in Dodge City. He preceded her in death.
She graduated from high school in Ulysses.
She was a homemaker and mother.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She spent time working with the Boy and Girl Scouts, local garden club and many church and civic activities.
She enjoyed family events and square dancing.
She is survived by two sons, Jesse Dean Hampton, Overland Park, and Clarence Earl Hampton, Eucha, Okla.; one daughter, Connie Lockard, Shawnee; two sisters, Louise Behee of Hewitt, Texas, and Mary Ellen Cullen, College Station, Texas; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant daughters, Judith and Carolyn; and three sisters, Dorothy Stout, Betty Harmon and Roberta Herman.
• Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses, with the Rev. Kelly Gindlesberger presiding.
Burial will follow at the Ulysses Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. with family present, on Sunday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses.
