The Lady Saints are now one game from winn the conference championship outright after taking it to the Lady Broncbusters in Garden City last night. Seward cruised to an 84-56 win and remain atop the Jayhawk Western Division, one game ahead of the Lady Blue Dragons of Hutch.

"The game was a tough matchup," Lady Saints guard Tameka Sanchez said. "We had a lot of pressure on us, but I thought we came out and played very well, and did what we were ask to do."

All America prospect Rachel Barnes led the Lady Siants with 24 points, Shelia Washington scored 15, and Kendra Spresser had 14.

The Lady Saints moved to 14-1 in-conference and 27-2 on the season. Hutch sits at 13-2, one-game back, with one to go.

Seward (27-2, 14-1) will host the Butler Lady Grizzlies (14-15, 8-7) Saturday at the Green House for their final regular season match-up.

"On Satuday’s game we just have to play harder than we ever have," Sanchez said. "If we expect to win, we have to do the right things, and be under control and don't let down, just play our game."

If Seward wins they will hold the No. 1 seed in the West and would take on the No. 8 seed in the east Allen County (8-21, 1-12).

If the Lady Saints were to lose, depending on a tie-breaker scenario due to Seward and Hutchinson splitting this season, Seward could fall to be the No. 2 seed in the regional bracket and would host either Neosho or Fort Scott.

The Lady Saints will aim for a conference title Saturday against a peaking Butler team that defeated Cloud County last night.
