The first in a series of public meetings to discuss the upcoming school bond proposal will take place at noon Friday at the Rock Island Depot, and the public is invited to attend.

The purpose of the meeting is to share the proposal with the public and discuss how more than 700 local residents helped craft the plan.

District representatives will share a 20-minute presenation followed by a presenation by the Citizens for Responsible Growth, and then questions will be taken.

This will be a brown bag meeting, so feel free to bring lunch and receive more information about the bond.
