JOHNSON –  Ruby Sara Tuggle, 97, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Memorial Living Center.  She was born on April 11, 1916 to Elam and Helena Hilty in Johnson. 
She attended Johnson grade and high schools, graduating valedictorian of the Johnson High School class of 1934. 
She married Milas Williams Tuggle on May 12, 1945, in Syracuse.
She then went to Business College in Hutchinson, Kansas and Bethel College in Newton, where she graduated in 1941 with a degree in home economics. 
After teaching school for three years in Attica, she returned to Johnson and was employed by Collingwood Grain Co. 
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Manter serving as the secretary and treasurer for many years. 
She was a member and past officer of the United Methodist Women's group.  She was a charter member of the Cosmos Club.
She was knowm for her varied handiwork ranging from award- winning quilts to bullion embroidery to wheat weaving.  She enjoyed contributing to the annual Manter Methodist Church Bazaar. 
Survivors include children: John Allan and his wife Jaime, Corpus Christi, Texas, Thomas Martin and wife Barbara, Green Valley, Ariz. and Donna Lee Stanton of Johnson, Kansas; six grandchildren: Alison Madry and husband Eric, Matthew Tuggle, Brett Tuggle, Kent Tuggle, Pam Caldwell and husband Skip, and Greg Stanton; eleven great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brother, Karl Hilty; three grandsons: Rodney, Tommy and Bryce Stanton; and one great-grandson Diren Hill.
o Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday  March 11, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Manter with Pastor Mary Courtney presiding. 
Burial will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery. 
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home in Johnson.
