Tim Huelskamp announced Tuesday his endorsement by FreedomWorks, a major player in the Conservative and Tea Party movements. Huelskamp is one of only 13 members of Congress to receive this coveted endorsement.

“I am honored to receive this coveted endorsement from one of the most vibrant, free-market grassroots organizations in the country,” said Congressman Huelskamp. “Our very freedom and our Constitution are at risk from an Obama-led Washington that is intent on destroying America as we know it.”

Huelskamp continued, “I stand with FreedomWorks in its effort to activate citizens to take their government back. The all-out assault on our freedom, expanding government overregulation, excessive taxation, and out-of-control national debt are threatening our future and our liberties. This endorsement is an acknowledgement of my hard work on behalf of Kansans – and I am proud to receive it.”

“FreedomWorks PAC is working hard to bring fresh talent to the table, but it’s also critical to protect the new generation of leadership that has begun repopulating the Republican Party,” said Matt Kibbe, President of FreedomWorks PAC. “These are the champions of pro-freedom legislation, and grassroots-backed representatives who came to Washington and actually did what they promised to do on the campaign trail. We are proud to lend our support to these fiscal conservatives to make sure that come 2015, they are not going anywhere.”

Huelskamp has won the Freedomworks “Freedom Fighter Award” each year that he has been in Congress. Freedomworks is a grassroots network of more than 6 million members. They are an organization who’s members have “a desire for less government, less taxes and more economic freedom.”

Huelskamp returns home every week – because his family, his home, his farm and his heart are in Kansas, not Washington D.C. In the past three years, Huelskamp has hosted 220 live town halls – and dozens of telephone town halls – which give his constituents the opportunity to meet with him and share their concerns about an out-of-touch Washington.

Huelskamp remains a strong advocate for his constituents in the Big First and has emerged as a top conservative leader in Washington, fighting for Kansas values even if it means challenging party insiders and special interests inside the Beltway.

His principled stands against wasteful government spending, out-of-control debt, and runaway over-regulation – and for traditional marriage, protection of the unborn and our rural way of life has earned him strong continued support at home, where it matters.
