TURPIN, Okla—The Turpin Cardinals outscored the Buffalo Bison 23-0 (10-0; 13-0) in two run-rule shortened games Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Jordan Lujan pitched the first shutout, giving up five hits, walking one, and striking out six.
Turpin led 3-0 heading into the bottom of the third, then collected six hits, and Buffalo committed five errors as the Cardinals scored seven runs to win the game 10-0.
Buffalo stranded two runners in all three innings.
Lujan was 3-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases; Matt Young was 2-2 with a stolen base and two runs scored. Kyler Musgrave had the game's only extra-base hit with a double. George Dominguez was 1-1, reached on an error, and scored two runs.
In Game 2, Turpin took even less time to get their offense going. The Cardinals scored four runs in the first and another nine in the second.
After Kyler Musgrave pitched his third shutout inning the game was called and the Cardinals were 13-0 winners.
Musgrave allowed just one hit, two walks, and struckout five.
Hunter Clark was 3-3 with two runs scored; Matt Young was 2-2 with two stolen bases and two runs scored. Jordan Lujan collected three walks and scored three runs and Kyler Musgrave was 2-3 at the plate. Eric Rojas was 1-1 with a walk, two stolen bases, and a run scored. Davian Ratzlaff was 1-1 with a walk, two runs scored, and a stolen base.
Turpin (4-3) will travel to Hooker Thursday.
