Bond issue is good old-fashioned common sense E-mail

A lifetime of working in agriculture has taught me that while the basics have remained the same, what worked yesterday doesn’t necessarily work today.

With the advancement of technology, farming techniques are much different today than when I started.

The same could be said about how we prepare our children for the workforce. If they had the same procedures in the classroom as they did when I went to school, today’s kids would not be prepared to face the high demands of the competitive markets.

That’s why proper schools are necessary. Without the proper resources and modern facilities, our children won’t be as prepared.

Any farmer worth his salt won’t waste a dime on something that isn’t necessary, but every one of them will use fertilizer to make sure that they maximize the yield of the crop.

The bond issue for Liberal school improvements has a chance to take 29 percent of their own money and use 71 percent from other sources. That sounds like the best fertilizer in the world to me.

A good farmer knows how to make do with his equipment, and he also knows when he is spending too much time fixing an old tractor when he could have spent more time in the field with a new one.

Farmers make common sense decisions like this every day, and the plan to grow Liberal’s schools sounds like good old fashioned common sense.

I urge you to use that same approach and vote yes, yes.
