The Liberal American and Auxiliary will host the District Eight Annual Convention April 11-13.

The call to order will be at 9 a.m. The joint session will be April 12 at the Knights of Columbus, 323 North Kansas, Liberal.

The three-day convention will begin with a social hour and registration, Friday, April 11th  from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Liberal Inn Conference Room Area, 603 East Pancake Blvd. on East Highway 54.  

Registration on Saturday will begin at 8 a.m. and Sunday’s registration will be at 9 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall.  Saturday morning will begin with a joint session of the Legion, Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion that may be present.  At the 10:15-10:30 break, Legion members will proceed  to the Post Home for their sessions. A convention program will outline the different sites.

Attendees will have the opportunity to take part in the Saturday evening banquet meal and hear guest speaker Eric Ford.  A live auction will follow.  Each Post is asked to bring an auction item.

A joint memorial service will be held  on Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. After the service, the sessions will reconvene.

Elections will take place for delegates to the National Convention, for Committee Representatives to the State Convention and for District Commander, Vice Commander and one Executive Committeemen.  Anyone seeking consideration for these positions should apply by letter to the nominating Committee Department Commander Gaylord Sanneman, other department officials, candidates for district and department positions, as well as state legislators will be making appearances at the convention.
