Bill E. Whiteley of Oklahoma City, OK died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Mercy Health Center following a massive stroke.
Bill was born November 21, 1952 in Oceanside, California, the son of Bob and Patty Whiteley. The family soon moved to Liberal, KS, where Bill spent his formative years. He graduated from the University of Kansas and remained an avid Jayhawks fan the rest of his life. After working in oilfield related businesses in Guymon, he moved to OKC where he worked as a Peterbilt salesman at Rush Truck Center until his death. Bill lived an active and full life, participating in sports, hunting, and fishing, with a special love for hunting dogs, especially his beloved Barney. Bill met and married his wife, Jane, later in his life, and until his sudden passing, his joys and passions were marriage, family and building Peterbilt trucks.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; their son, Chris; his brothers, Rod Whiteley and wife, Anita of Liberal, KS, Mike Whiteley and wife, Teresa of Watford City, ND, Carl Whiteley of Laverne, OK and Jim Whiteley and wife, Annie of Grand Junction, CO. Additionally, he leaves behind six nephews: Jacob, Glen, Robby, David, Michael and Steven and four nieces: Patricia, Laura, Mikayla and Alicia. He is also survived by one uncle, Roy Whiteley, many cousins and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Bob and Patty Whiteley of Jay, OK.
• The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 11th in the Vondel Smith Mortuary North Chapel, 13125 N. MacArthur Blvd.
