MEADE - Harold E. Osborn, 83, died Friday, April 11, 2014, of respiratory complications.
He was born to Harry Earnest and Irene (Huffington) Osborn in Chanute.
He graduated from Kansas State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree.
He served in the United States Air Force as a 1st Lieutenant during the Korean Conflict.
He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Indianapolis and he worked as an aeronautical engineer for the Allison Division of General Motors for thirty-four years before retiring to Naples, Fla.
He was an active member of CERT (VeronaWalk Community Emergency Response Team) a volunteer for the Naples FreeNet, an amateur radio operator and an avid airplane enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife Patty Lou (Pennington) Osborn; sons, Roger (Pat Oddo) Osborn and Richard (Joy) Osborn; daughters, Linda (Curt) Older and Elizabeth Osborn in Indianapolis; sister, Marcia Eads; grandchildren, Brian (Cassie) Osborn and Rachael (Garner) Simpson; and great-grandchild, Cheyenne Osborn.
• Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary in Meade.
Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery in Meade.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
