Special to the Leader & Times

Yucca Ridge Golf Club opened its 2014 tournament season Saturday to one of the best spring days for being outdoors.

With wind in the low teens, temperatures near 90, and clear skies, it could not get much better for golfing.

Getting rust out of the joints and the dust off the clubs, the annual ‘Tin Man Tune-up’ was as a two-person scramble.

Taking fourth was the team of Richard Freeman and Trent Kitch shooting a 76.

The team of Johnny Obholz and Tyler Stebbens tied with the team of Levi Eaton and Derek Fuller for second place turning in a 74.

Taking first place shooting 70 was the team of Frank Mendoza and Tyler Brungardt.

The next event scheduled for May 31 is the second annual ‘Spring Poker Run.’

This two-person best ball format will conclude with a poker tournament where players will sit down and try to make their best poker hand.  Register by May 29 to particiapte by calling 624-GOLF.
