The driver of a black pickup that rammed a local woman off the road Friday night has been identified. According to Sheriff’s Detective Lana Gudgel, the pickup has also been located.

“The black GMC Sonoma pickup has been located and the driver of the vehicle has been identified,” Gudgel noted in a press release Thursday. “No charges have been filed yet, pending the outcome of the investigation.”

Gudgel added that additional information will be released as soon as it is available.

The release concerns an incident where a 20-year-old local woman was assaulted Friday evening by an unknown man when he used his vehicle to ram her car and force her into the ditch.

According to a press release from Seward County Sheriff’s office, the young woman was driving on a county road around 11:30 p.m. Friday when her vehicle was struck from behind repeatedly by a black GMC Sonoma. The woman alleged after hitting her vehicle several times, the driver of the Sonoma then forced her into the ditch.

The driver was described as a 20- to 25-year-old Hispanic male.
