The Cardinals jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning Monday against the Tigers, and the Cardinal defense was able to keep the Tigers from crossing home the rest of the way for a 10-0 win.

The Tigers did advance a runner to third in the second inning with only one out, but a strikeout and a groundout ended the threat.

The win sets up a battle for first place Wednesday when the 3-0 Cardinals face the 3-0 Rockies at Rosel Field.

Tonight’s game will feature one team getting its first win of the season when the A’s (0-2) face the White Sox (0-2).
