Obituary

 

JOHNSON –  Zelma Frances Herrick Colvin, 99, died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton.

She was born July 2, 1914 to James and Agnes (Walters) Herrick on the Herrick farm southeast of Johnson.

She married Delphos Colvin in Nov. 1962. He preceded her in death in 1976.

Zelma graduated high school from Breese College in Hutchinson and attended Ft. Hays College.  After finishing school, she lived in Kentucky for a short time before moving to Kansas City where she worked in a bank, then spent 31 years as a Senior Accounting Clerk for the General Headquarters, Church of the Nazarene.

She was a lifetime member of the Church of the Nazarene, and always considered the Bethel Church of the Nazarene her home church.

Survivors include daughter, Jackie; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

• Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Johnson with Pastor Richard Stafford presiding.

Burial will follow at the Stanton County Cemetery in Johnson.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Garnand Funeral Home, PO Box 715, Johnson, Kansas 67855.
